This PR delivers the first slice of the voice channel: inbound call
handling. When a customer calls a configured voice
number, Chatwoot now creates a new conversation and shows a dedicated
call bubble in the UI. As the call progresses
(ringing, answered, completed), its status updates in real time in both
the conversation list and the call bubble, so
agents can instantly see what’s happening. This focuses on the inbound
flow and is part of breaking the larger voice
feature into smaller, functional, and testable units; further
enhancements will follow in subsequent PRs.
references: #11602 , #11481
## Testing
- Configure a Voice inbox in Chatwoot with your Twilio number.
- Place a call to that number.
- Verify a new conversation appears in the Voice inbox for the call.
- Open it and confirm a dedicated voice call message bubble is shown.
- Watch status update live (ringing/answered); hang up and see it change
to completed in both the bubble and conversation
list.
- to test missed call status, make sure to hangup the call before the
please wait while we connect you to an agent message plays

# Pull Request Template
## Description
This PR fixes an issue (CW-5529) where articles displayed on the widget
were not respecting the current locale set in the URL (e.g., `/ar` was
showing English articles).
The root cause was that the article queries in the
`_featured_articles.html.erb` and `_uncategorized-block.html.erb` view
templates were missing locale filtering.
The fix involves adding `locale: @locale` to the `articles.where`
clauses in these templates to ensure that only articles matching the
current portal locale are displayed.
Fixes #CW-5529
## Type of change
- [x] Bug fix (non-breaking change which fixes an issue)
- [ ] New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
- [ ] Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing
functionality not to work as expected)
- [ ] This change requires a documentation update
## How Has This Been Tested?
The changes were verified against existing test cases that confirm the
expected behavior for locale-specific article filtering. Specifically,
tests for the articles controller's `index` action and article count by
locale were reviewed, which align with the implemented fixes.

We now support searching within the actual message content, email
subject lines, and audio transcriptions. This enables a faster, more
accurate search experience going forward. Unlike the standard message
search, which is limited to the last 3 months, this search has no time
restrictions.
The search engine also accounts for small variations in queries. Minor
spelling mistakes, such as searching for slck instead of Slack, will
still return the correct results. It also ignores differences in accents
and diacritics, so searching for Deja vu will match content containing
Déjà vu.
We can also refine searches in the future by criteria such as:
- Searching within a specific inbox
- Filtering by sender or recipient
- Limiting to messages sent by an agent

## Description
This PR includes improvements to Inbox view:
1. **Update the route to `:type/:id`**
Previously, we used `notification_id` in the route. This has now been
changed to use a more generic structure like `conversation/:id`, with
`type` set to `"conversation"`. This refactor allows future support for
other types like `contact`, making the route structure more flexible.
It also fixes a critical issue: when a notification is open and a new
notification arrives for the same conversation, the conversation view
used to close unexpectedly. This issue is now resolved.
2. **Migrate components from Options API to Composition API**
Both `InboxList.vue` and `InboxView.vue` have been updated to use the
Composition API with `<script setup>`.
3. **Auto-scroll inbox item into view when navigating**
When navigating through `InboxItemHeader`, the corresponding inbox item
now automatically scrolls into view and load more notifications

## What we have changed:
We have added support for WhatsApp campaigns as requested in the
discussion.
Ref: https://github.com/orgs/chatwoot/discussions/8465
**Note:** This implementation doesn't exactly match the maintainer's
specification and variable support is missing. This is an initial
implementation that provides the core WhatsApp campaign functionality.
### Changes included:
**Backend:**
- Added `template_params` column to campaigns table (migration + schema)
- Created `Whatsapp::OneoffCampaignService` for WhatsApp campaign
execution
- Updated campaign model to support WhatsApp inbox types
- Added template_params support to campaign controller and API
**Frontend:**
- Added WhatsApp campaign page, dialog, and form components
- Updated campaign store to filter WhatsApp campaigns separately
- Added WhatsApp-specific routes and empty state
- Updated i18n translations for WhatsApp campaigns
- Modified sidebar to include WhatsApp campaigns navigation
This provides a foundation for WhatsApp campaigns that can be extended
with variable support and other enhancements in future iterations.

## Description
This PR fixes an issue where editing a contact name from the “Contacts”
tab would not allow spaces in the First or Last Name fields — the space
would disappear immediately after typing.
This issue did not occur in the sidebar editor or when adding a new
contact.
**Cause:** The form had a deep watcher on `contactData`, which triggered
`prepareStateBasedOnProps()` on every nested change. This caused the
form state to reset.
**Solution:** Replaced the deep watcher with a shallow watcher that only
watches `contactData.id`.
This fires once on mount and whenever a new contact is selected,
avoiding unnecessary re-hydration while the user is typing.

## Description
This PR allows users to dynamically pass custom welcome and availability
messages, along with UI feature toggles, via `window.chatwootSettings`.
If any of the following settings are provided, the widget will use them;
otherwise, it falls back to default behavior.
**New options:**
```
window.chatwootSettings = {
welcomeTitle: 'Need help?', // Custom widget title
welcomeDescription: 'We’re here to support you.', // Subtitle in the header
## Description
This PR fixes an issue where typing variables, like `{{contact.name}}`,
caused the variable list to miss showing `contact.name`. The search key
in this case became `contact.name}},` which didn't match any available
options. The logic in `VariableList.vue` only checked the part after the
last comma and didn’t fully sanitize the input.
**Solution**
Updated `searchKey` to remove all {} and commas for accurate matching.
## Description
This PR includes the following improvements:
* **Popular Articles Locale Selection based on Widget Locale**
* Implements priority-based locale matching:
* Exact locale match (e.g., "fr" === "fr")
* Base language match (e.g., "fr" when selected is "fr_CA")
* Variant match (e.g., "fr_BE" when selected is "fr")
* Removes default locale fallback - if no locale match is found, popular
articles section is hidden.
* Fixed **API** filter issue where the locale parameter was previously
ignored
* Hides Popular Articles section completely when no locale match is
found and Only shows relevant articles in the user's language
* **RTL Direction Handling Improvements**
* Now directly reads the `lang` attribute from HTML element `<html
lang="en">` instead of relying on `.locale-switcher` and sets direction
attribute based on language.
* Adds `data-dir-applied` attribute to prevent overlapping direction
settings between global helpers and components (eg case: Insert article
in editor dashboard)
* Update `IframeLoader.vue` to Composition API and improve the **dir**
logic
## Description
This PR fixes the translation inconsistency in the reports pages, where
table-column headers reverted to English after a page reload.
**Cause**
The components defined the columns array statically, so header labels
were translated only once during component creation. On reload, the
table showed the default system language (English) until the user’s
locale finished loading.
**Solution**
Replaced the static columns array with a computed property and passed it
to `Tanstack useVueTable` via a getter. This makes the headers reactive,
ensuring they automatically update whenever the locale changes and
remain translated after every reload.
The `matchesFilter` is a utility that checks the incoming payload
against a filter and returns `true` or `false`.
For the `greater_than` and `less_than` filter specifically, the date
parsing would fail when the timestamp was a 10 digit number.
This PR solves this by adding a `coerceToDate` method that tries to
parse the given value to a Date object as correctly as possible before
comparing.
This PR improves the portal's internal link detection logic to be more
robust when handling empty or undefined configuration values.
Previously, the code could fail when `customDomain` was empty, causing
external links to incorrectly behave as internal links. The fix
introduces a new `isSameOrigin` helper function that safely compares
URLs using proper URL parsing and origin comparison, gracefully handling
edge cases like missing domains, relative paths, and malformed URLs.
This ensures external links consistently open in new tabs regardless of
portal configuration completeness.
## Description
This PR fixes an issue where updating the icon for a category didn’t
work while editing. This happened because the edit dialog is wrapped in
a form, and the icon button (missing `type="button"`) triggered a form
submission instead of opening the icon picker.
**Solution:**
Set the icon button’s `type` to `"button"` to prevent unintended form
submission.
## Description
This PR fixes,
1. Fix display issue where the attribute value `0` was not shown for
attributes of type "number" and instead displayed as `"---"`
2. Fix issue where the copy and delete buttons were not visible when the
attribute value was `0`
3. Fix an issue with updating contact custom attributes in the
conversation sidebar (caused by the camelCase param key mismatch in
`contacts/update`; only reproducible for attributes type "date")
4. Ensure the delete button is shown for checkbox-type attributes, even
when the value is `true` or `false` (previously hidden when the value
was `false`, despite the key being present)
## Description
Fixes
[CW-4330](https://linear.app/chatwoot/issue/CW-4330/bug-attachments-in-gallery-view-gets-duplicated-when-you-navigate-back)
**Cause**
When navigating back to a previously viewed conversation, attachments
were being duplicated in the Gallery View. This occurred because the
`SET_ALL_ATTACHMENTS` mutation was appending new attachments to existing
ones `(attachments.push(...data))` instead of replacing them. Each time
a user returned to a conversation, the attachment list would grow,
showing duplicate images.
**Solution**
Updated the `SET_ALL_ATTACHMENTS` mutation to replace the entire
attachments array instead of appending to it. This change ensures
attachments are cleared before adding new ones when returning to a
previously viewed conversation, preventing duplicates.
## Description
This PR introduces a `CustomTeleport` component that wraps Vue's
Teleport to preserve directionality context (ltr / rtl) when teleporting
content outside the app’s root container.
### Problem
Currently, the app sets the text direction (`[dir="ltr"]` or
`[dir="rtl"]`) on a container `div` inside `<body>`, not on `<body>`
itself. When content is teleported directly into `body`, it no longer
inherits the correct direction context. As a result, direction-aware
utility classes like `ltr:pl-2`, `rtl:ml-1`, etc., break because CSS
selectors like `[dir="ltr"] .ltr\:pl-2` no longer match. Identified this
issue when working on this
[PR](https://github.com/chatwoot/chatwoot/pull/11382)
### Solution
The `CustomTeleport` component automatically applies the correct `[dir]`
attribute (`ltr` or `rtl`) on the teleported content's wrapper based on
the current `isRTL` setting from the store. This ensures that
direction-specific Tailwind utility classes continue to work as
expected, even when the content is rendered outside the app root.
This PR fixes an issue where messages from the agent bot were incorrectly displayed as "BOT" with a missing avatar. It now correctly shows the agent bot’s name and avatar URL in the message list.
This PR does the following:
- Missing translations to the i18n file.
- Test the change with Malayalam (ml) translation.
- Fixes overflow by setting the width to 100%
_Note_: The prompt text is also set for translation. This is
intentional, there is no change in the behaviour.
## Description
This PR fixes the CC/BCC field reset issue on activity action.
Fixes
[CW-4256](https://linear.app/chatwoot/issue/CW-4256/emails-added-in-cc-and-bcc-disappears-when-you-click-on-assign-to-me),
#5234
### Cause of the Issue
Previously, the CC and BCC fields in the reply box were being reset
whenever a conversation activity occurred (such as assignment, status
change, etc.). This happened because watchers on the current chat
messages array and current chat object would trigger
`setCCAndToEmailsFromLastChat` even when the last message was an
activity or system message, not a real email.
### Solution
- The updated logic ensures that the CC and BCC fields are only set
under the following conditions:
**1**. Switching to a new conversation.
**2**. In the same conversation, only if the last message is not an
activity (i.e., only for actual emails).
- It uses the `lastEmail` computed property, which filters out private
and activity messages, ensuring only real email context changes update
the fields.
- This prevents user-entered `CC/BCC` values from being cleared after
system events (e.g., assignments or status changes), while still
updating the fields correctly when relevant messages are received.
When we send text with attachments on Instagram, Instagram treats text
and attachments as separate messages. However, Chatwoot keeps them as a
single message. Since Instagram sends echo events for each message, this
can create duplicate messages in Chatwoot. To prevent this, we will send
text and attachments as separate messages.
Users who have not changed the order of the sidebar items were not able
to change it as the object returned was created using Object.freeze
To reproduce:
- Create a new user account, open a conversation, try changing the order
of the sidebar items.
This pull request introduces frontend role filtering to allStatusChat
getter. The key changes include the addition of a new helper function to
get the user's role, updates to the conversation filtering logic to
incorporate role and permissions, and the addition of unit tests for the
new filtering logic.
## Description
**Issue:** When typing "@" in reply mode and then switching to private
note mode, the user mentions menu remains visible and cannot be
dismissed.
**Cause:** The Prose Mirror suggestion plugin for "@" was active in both
reply modes (normal and private). When triggered in normal reply mode
and then switching to private note mode, the menu would remain open and
couldn't be dismissed.
**Solution**
```
createSuggestionPlugin({
trigger: '@',
showMenu: showUserMentions,
searchTerm: mentionSearchKey,
isAllowed: () => props.isPrivate, // Only allow @ mentions in private note mode
}),
```
1. By setting `isAllowed: () => props.isPrivate`, the @ mention trigger
will only activate when in private note mode
2. In normal reply mode, the plugin won't activate at all since
`isAllowed` returns false
3. This prevents the menu from being triggered in the wrong context and
fix the scenario where the menu gets stuck.
This PR introduces basic minimum version of **Instagram Business
Login**, making Instagram inbox setup more straightforward by removing
the Facebook Page dependency. This update enhances user experience and
aligns with Meta’s recommended best practices.
Fixes
https://linear.app/chatwoot/issue/CW-3728/instagram-login-how-to-implement-the-changes
## Why Introduce Instagram as a Separate Inbox?
Currently, our Instagram integration requires linking an Instagram
account to a Facebook Page, making setup complex. To simplify this
process, Instagram now offers **Instagram Business Login**, which allows
users to authenticate directly with their Instagram credentials.
The **Instagram API with Instagram Login** enables businesses and
creators to send and receive messages without needing a Facebook Page
connection. While an Instagram Business or Creator account is still
required, this approach provides a more straightforward integration
process.
| **Existing Approach (Facebook Login for Business)** | **New Approach
(Instagram Business Login)** |
| --- | --- |
| Requires linking Instagram to a Facebook Page | No Facebook Page
required |
| Users log in via Facebook credentials | Users log in via Instagram
credentials |
| Configuration is more complex | Simpler setup |
Meta recommends using **Instagram Business Login** as the preferred
authentication method due to its easier configuration and improved
developer experience.
---
## Implementation Plan
The core messaging functionality is already in place, but the transition
to **Instagram Business Login** requires adjustments.
### Changes & Considerations
- **API Adjustments**: The Instagram API uses `graph.instagram`, whereas
Koala (our existing library) interacts with `graph.facebook`. We may
need to modify API calls accordingly.
- **Three Main Modules**:
1. **Instagram Business Login** – Handle authentication flow.
2. **Permissions & Features** – Ensure necessary API scopes are granted.
3. **Webhooks** – Enable real-time message retrieval.
---
## Instagram Login Flow
1. User clicks **"Create Inbox"** for Instagram.
2. App redirects to the [Instagram Authorization
URL](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-platform/instagram-api-with-instagram-login/business-login#embed-the-business-login-url).
3. After authentication, Instagram returns an authorization code.
5. The app exchanges the code for a **long-lived token** (valid for 60
days).
6. Tokens are refreshed periodically to maintain access.
7. Once completed, the app creates an inbox and redirects to the
Chatwoot dashboard.
---
## How to Test the Instagram Inbox
1. Create a new app on [Meta's Developer
Portal](https://developers.facebook.com/apps/).
2. Select **Business** as the app type and configure it.
3. Add the Instagram product and connect a business account.
4. Copy Instagram app ID and Instagram app secret
5. Add the Instagram app ID and Instagram app secret to your app config
via `{Chatwoot installation
url}/super_admin/app_config?config=instagram`
6. Configure Webhooks:
- Callback URL: `{your_chatwoot_url}/webhooks/instagram`
- Verify Token: `INSTAGRAM_VERIFY_TOKEN`
- Subscribe to `messages`, `messaging_seen`, and `message_reactions`
events.
7. Set up **Instagram Business Login**:
- Redirect URL: `{your_chatwoot_url}/instagram/callback`
8. Test inbox creation via the Chatwoot dashboard.
## Troubleshooting & Common Errors
### Insufficient Developer Role Error
- Ensure the Instagram user is added as a developer:
- **Meta Dashboard → App Roles → Roles → Add People → Enter Instagram
ID**
### API Access Deactivated
- Ensure the **Privacy Policy URL** is valid and correctly set.
### Invalid request: Request parameters are invalid: Invalid
redirect_uri
- Please configure the Frontend URL. The Frontend URL does not match the
authorization URL.
---
## To-Do List
- [x] Basic integration setup completed.
- [x] Enable sending messages via [Messaging
API](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-platform/instagram-api-with-instagram-login/messaging-api).
- [x] Implement automatic webhook subscriptions on inbox creation.
- [x] Handle **canceled authorization errors**.
- [x] Handle all the errors
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-platform/instagram-graph-api/reference/error-codes
- [x] Dynamically fetch **account IDs** instead of hardcoding them.
- [x] Prevent duplicate Instagram channel creation for the same account.
- [x] Use **Global Config** instead of environment variables.
- [x] Explore **Human Agent feature** for message handling.
- [x] Write and refine **test cases** for all scenarios.
- [x] Implement **token refresh mechanism** (tokens expire after 60
days).
This PR combines the approaches in
https://github.com/chatwoot/chatwoot/pull/11190 and
https://github.com/chatwoot/chatwoot/pull/11187 to debounce the meta
request with a max wait time of 2.5 seconds With 500 concurrent users,
the theoretical limit with this is 720K requests per minute, if all of
them continuously receive websocket events.
The max wait of 2.5 seconds is still very generous, and we can easily
make it 2 seconds for smaller accounts and 5 seconds for larger
accounts.
```js
const debouncedFetchMetaData = debounce(fetchMetaData, 500, false, 200);
const longDebouncedFetchMetaData = debounce(fetchMetaData, 500, false, 5000);
export const actions = {
get: async ({ commit, state: $state }, params) => {
if ($state.allCount > 100) {
longDebouncedFetchMetaData(commit, params);
} else {
debouncedFetchMetaData(commit, params);
}
},
set({ commit }, meta) {
commit(types.SET_CONV_TAB_META, meta);
},
};

This update improves the throttling mechanism for conversation meta
requests to optimize server load and enhance performance. The changes
implement differentiated thresholds based on account size - a 2-second
throttle for small accounts (≤100 conversations) and a 10-second

This pull request includes significant changes to the filtering logic
for conversations in the frontend, here's a summary of the changes
This includes adding a `matchesFilters` method that evaluates a
conversation against the applied filters. It does so by first evaluating
all the conditions, and later converting the results into a JSONLogic
object that can be evaluated according to Postgres operator precedence
### Alignment Specs
To ensure the frontend and backend implementations always align, we've
added tests on both sides with same cases, for anyone fixing any
regressions found in the frontend implementation, they need to ensure
the existing tests always pass.

The UI displays only six articles, and this update introduces a per_page
parameter to control the number of articles returned per API call. The
value is capped between 1 and 100, with a default fallback if a lower
number is set.
This change is necessary due to high website traffic, where excessive
payloads are returned without adding value.
**Changes:**
- Add index to status, account_id, portal_id, views.
- Add per_page param in the API.
- Update the code in the frontend to fetch only 6

Previously, viewing translations required opening a modal, which was a
frustrating experience. This update improves the UX by displaying
translations inline.

A sample message with translated content (which has an option to see the
original):

Right now, the translation is done based on the account locale. Some of
the future considerations.
- Add personal preference for the language (For eg: an agent can use the
software in spanish even though the company default is english), then
support translations based on personal preference.
- Add support for LLM translations (OpenAI integration)
- Add translations if Captain is enabled
- Add auto translation if the feature is turned on.
The string were not taking the correct locale as there were initialized
during the component mount. This change would force the component to
re-render the strings.

The Microsoft and Gmail channels don’t function with custom SMTP or IMAP
configurations or forwarding option. Displaying the configuration tab
creates confusion among users.
This PR would eliminate the option for these channels.
