We recently introduced the WhatsApp Embedded Signup flow in Chatwoot to
simplify onboarding. However, we discovered two important limitations:
Some customers’ numbers are already linked to an Embedded Signup, which
blocks re-use. Tech providers cannot onboard their own numbers via
Embedded Signup.
As a result, we need to support both Manual and Embedded Signup flows to
cover all scenarios.
### Problem
- Current UI only offers the Embedded Signup option.
- Customers who need to reuse existing numbers (already connected to
WABA) or tech providers testing their own numbers get stuck.
- Manual flow exists but is no longer exposed in the UX

### Solution
- Design a dual-path UX in the Create WhatsApp Inbox step that:
- Offers Embedded Signup (default/recommended) for new numbers and
businesses.
- Offers Manual Setup for advanced users, existing linked numbers, and
tech providers.

Meta announced that Graph API v17.0 will reach end-of-life on September
12, 2025, requiring migration to v18.0 or higher. Updated the default
Facebook API version from v17.0 to v18.0 across configuration files in
response to Meta's deprecation notice.
This PR delivers the first slice of the voice channel: inbound call
handling. When a customer calls a configured voice
number, Chatwoot now creates a new conversation and shows a dedicated
call bubble in the UI. As the call progresses
(ringing, answered, completed), its status updates in real time in both
the conversation list and the call bubble, so
agents can instantly see what’s happening. This focuses on the inbound
flow and is part of breaking the larger voice
feature into smaller, functional, and testable units; further
enhancements will follow in subsequent PRs.

## Testing
- Configure a Voice inbox in Chatwoot with your Twilio number.
- Place a call to that number.
- Verify a new conversation appears in the Voice inbox for the call.
- Open it and confirm a dedicated voice call message bubble is shown.
- Watch status update live (ringing/answered); hang up and see it change
to completed in both the bubble and conversation
list.
- to test missed call status, make sure to hangup the call before the

This PR adds the foundation for account-level SAML SSO configuration in
Chatwoot Enterprise. It introduces a new `AccountSamlSettings` model and
management API that allows accounts to configure their own SAML identity
providers independently, this also includes the certificate generation
flow
The implementation includes a new controller
(`Api::V1::Accounts::SamlSettingsController`) that provides CRUD
operations for SAML configuration
The feature is properly gated behind the 'saml' feature flag and
includes administrator-only authorization via Pundit policies.
Currently, auto-assignment runs only during conversation creation or
update events. If no agents are online when new conversations arrive,
those conversations remain unassigned.
With this change, unassigned conversations will be automatically
assigned once agents become available. The job runs every 15 minutes and
uses a fair distribution threshold of 100 to prevent a large number of
conversations from being assigned to a single available agent. This will
be customizable later.
We now support searching within the actual message content, email
subject lines, and audio transcriptions. This enables a faster, more
accurate search experience going forward. Unlike the standard message
search, which is limited to the last 3 months, this search has no time
restrictions.
The search engine also accounts for small variations in queries. Minor
spelling mistakes, such as searching for slck instead of Slack, will
still return the correct results. It also ignores differences in accents
and diacritics, so searching for Deja vu will match content containing
Déjà vu.
We can also refine searches in the future by criteria such as:
- Searching within a specific inbox
- Filtering by sender or recipient
- Limiting to messages sent by an agent

This PR adds support for automatic SSL issuance using Cloudflare when a
custom domain is updated.
- Introduced a cloudflare configuration. If present, the system will
attempt to issue an SSL certificate via Cloudflare whenever a custom
domain is added or changed.
- SSL verification is handled using an HTTP challenge.
- The job will store the HTTP challenge response provided by Cloudflare
and serve it under the /.well-known/cf path automatically.
How to test:
- Create a Cloudflare zone for your domain and copy the Zone ID.
- Generate a Cloudflare API token with the required SSL certificate
permissions.
- Set the Fallback Origin under SSL -> Custom HostName to the Chatwoot
installation.
- Add or update a custom domain and verify that the SSL certificate is
automatically issued.

## What we have changed:
We have added support for WhatsApp campaigns as requested in the
discussion.
Ref: https://github.com/orgs/chatwoot/discussions/8465
**Note:** This implementation doesn't exactly match the maintainer's
specification and variable support is missing. This is an initial
implementation that provides the core WhatsApp campaign functionality.
### Changes included:
**Backend:**
- Added `template_params` column to campaigns table (migration + schema)
- Created `Whatsapp::OneoffCampaignService` for WhatsApp campaign
execution
- Updated campaign model to support WhatsApp inbox types
- Added template_params support to campaign controller and API
**Frontend:**
- Added WhatsApp campaign page, dialog, and form components
- Updated campaign store to filter WhatsApp campaigns separately
- Added WhatsApp-specific routes and empty state
- Updated i18n translations for WhatsApp campaigns
- Modified sidebar to include WhatsApp campaigns navigation
This provides a foundation for WhatsApp campaigns that can be extended
with variable support and other enhancements in future iterations.

## Problem
On platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, customers cannot
reply to messages after 24 hours (or other channel-specific messaging
windows). Despite this limitation, the system continued sending CSAT
surveys to customers outside their messaging window, making it
impossible for them to respond.
## Solution
Added a check for `conversation.can_reply?` in the
`should_send_csat_survey?` method. This leverages the existing
`MessageWindowService` which already handles all channel-specific
messaging window logic.
- Automate the deletion of accounts that have requested deletion via
account settings.
- Add a Sidekiq job that runs daily to find accounts that have requested
deletion and have passed the 7-day window.
- This job deletes the account and then soft-deletes users if they do
not belong to any other account.
- This job also sends an email to the Chatwoot instance admin for
compliance purposes.
- The Chatwoot instance admin's email is configurable via the
`CHATWOOT_INSTANCE_ADMIN_EMAIL` global config.

Rails 7.1 ships with connection-pooling enabled by default for
`RedisCacheStore` (see rails/rails#45235).
Because we already wrap our Redis clients in our own `ConnectionPool`
($alfred / $velma), the upgrade resulted in a double-wrapped object and
runtime errors such as:
NoMethodError: undefined method `get` for an instance of ConnectionPool
This patch:
* Passes `pool: false` when instantiating `RedisCacheStore` in
`config/initializers/rack_attack.rb`, telling Rails to use the pool we
supply instead of building its own.
* Adds an inline comment explaining the rationale.
* Adds a TODO in `config/initializers/01_redis.rb` suggesting a future
simplification: switch to plain Redis clients and let Rails manage the
pool.

The agents can see the previous conversations with the copilot if needed
with this change. We would have to cleanup the data after a while. For
now, that is not considered.
This PR adds:
- A new model for copilot_threads (intentionally named thread instead of
conversation to avoid confusion), copilot_messages
- Add the controller to fetch previous threads and messages.
Added support for typing events in webhooks. Two new events are now
available: `conversation_typing_on` and `conversation_typing_off`.

When we send text with attachments on Instagram, Instagram treats text
and attachments as separate messages. However, Chatwoot keeps them as a
single message. Since Instagram sends echo events for each message, this
can create duplicate messages in Chatwoot. To prevent this, we will send
text and attachments as separate messages.

In this PR https://github.com/chatwoot/chatwoot/pull/11139, if there is
an attempt to create a duplication session for the contact in the same
inbox, we will anonymize the old session.
This PR would prevent sending messages to the older sessions. The
support agents will have to create a new conversation to continue
messages with customer.
This PR adds native integration with Shopify. No more dashboard apps.
The support agents can view the orders, their status and the link to the
order page on the conversation sidebar.
This PR does the following:
- Create an integration with Shopify (a new app is added in the
integrations tab)
- Option to configure it in SuperAdmin
- OAuth endpoint and the callbacks.
- Frontend component to render the orders. (We might need to cache it in
the future)

This PR updates the search implementation to better utilize the GIN
indexes. The option is toggled behind a feature flag for us to test it
internally before making it available publicly
The pg_stat_activity data showed a lot of idle connections. This affects the total number of database connections available which resulted in production incidents during the weekend.
> reaping_frequency: frequency in seconds to periodically run the Reaper, which attempts to find and recover connections from dead threads, which can occur if a programmer forgets to close a connection at the end of a thread or a thread dies unexpectedly. Regardless of this setting, the Reaper will be invoked before every blocking wait. (Default nil, which means don't schedule the Reaper).

- Add a warning logger for cases where we are getting webhook events for
inactive numbers.
- Add config to discard events for inactive numbers so that the meta
will stop sending events

This PR adds service to automate account abuse detection. Currently
based on the signup name and URL, could potentially add more context
such as usage analysis, message metadata etc.
This PR allows Copilot to be used without connecting the Captain assistant to an inbox. Currently, if Captain is enabled on an account, it takes over conversations and responds directly to users. This PR enables the use of Captain as a Copilot without allowing it to respond to users. Additionally, it allows using a different assistant for Copilot instead of the default Captain assistant.
The selection logic for the Copilot assistant follows this order of preference:
- If the user has selected a specific assistant, it takes first preference for Copilot.
- If the above is not available, the assistant connected to the inbox takes preference.
- If neither of the above is available, the first assistant in the account takes preference.
This PR has the following changes
- Add `LINEAR_CLIENT_ID` and `LINEAR_CLIENT_SECRET` to installation
config
- Add Linear config to super_admin/features.yml
- Replace usage of ENV.fetch with GlobalConfigService.load for fetch
Client Id and Secret.
This PR is part of the larger #10849 implementation and introduces a new
Live Reports API to provide real-time conversation metrics.
The /live_reports/conversation_metrics endpoint returns account-level or
team-level conversation statistics, including open, pending, unattended,
and unassigned conversation counts.
The /live_reports/grouped_conversation_metrics endpoint accepts a group
parameter, either team_id or assignee_id, and returns open and
unattended conversation counts based on the specified grouping.
Fixes https://linear.app/chatwoot/issue/CW-3417/oauth-20-authentication
We are planning to publish the Chatwoot app in the Linear [integration
list](https://linear.app/docs/integration-directory). While we currently
use token-based authentication, Linear recommends OAuth2 authentication.
This PR implements OAuth2 support.
